No Friends

We wanted to be sure and move after the school year ended, so the kids could start fresh at their new school in the fall. I’m still glad we did that, but the only down side is they know absolutely no kids here yet, and so are bored out of their minds. We’ve been doing “friend walks,” around the neighborhood where we literally knock on the doors of any house that has bikes in the yard, or a swing set. I feel bad for the kids because in our old neighborhood, they had a ton of friends. I know they will here too, it just takes time. Once the school year starts, I’m sure they will meet lots of kids on the bus and at school, and once they figure out they live in the same neighborhood, they will set up play dates with each other. This photo taken last Thursday after Memorial. It's nice to see all people coming to the memorial. It is really important to remember Jesus death and we always thankful Jesus for giving his life to save us for our sins and because of him, we have a hope of everlasting life.

more kids in the house!

We never had this much kids in the house when were in Grand Junction since they don't have so much kids in our congregation. I'm glad to see more kids in the meeting and the kids love it. That's why on weekend we try to invite families with kids to come over for dinner, that way the kids can get together, play and watch their favorite movie at the play room. Dustin found her new best friend, her name is renee and they get along well together and Dustin too she found her new buddies too! Her favorite one is Nathalie the one next to her at the last photo :-)

Same top

This is my latest project for this month of February. I made a backless top for me and a halter top for my little girl. I use a black and white silk fabric, its like a cow print ;-) that's why Dana always says Moooo when she wore the dress. Anyhow, it turns out pretty nice and it looks pretty good too, it looks like an expensive top but I only got a one and a half yard of fabric for $6 and I made two tops and a skirt too.

Twisty Balloons

I just learned how to make different animal characters using the twisty balloons and the kids love it. I make Dustin a bear and a flower then for Dana, I make her a little poodle and a fish. I switched our internet service to clear wireless internet providers. I was having connectivity problems and have recently started working from home, so I needed a really reliable internet connection. I have started freelance writing for bloggers. I have always enjoyed writing, but didn’t realize until a couple of years ago that I had a real talent for it. I was previously an interior decorator. I still do some decorating on the side, but nowadays, I have been writing articles for interior design websites and magazines. I didn’t realize how easy and how much fun writing about my job was. Every week I get different topics. I do research on each and put together an article along with pictures to liven up the posts. I always send all of my articles to my mom to proofread before I send them out. She was an English major and always has some good ideas about how to liven up the columns. My husband make a walk way in the yard because it was full of snow. That way the dog can walk in the pathway instead of walking in a thick deep snow.

This photo was taken this morning. We got a little snow in the backyard, not so much but its enough to make the kids happy. Dana was so excited to play in the snow. We just took some photos and when it started to get cold, we get inside the house right away and keep our self warm.

At the water park, Rio Grande Alamosa!

This photos taken last September when we went to Alamosa. We stay at Rio Grande Inn. We stay there about 3 night and 4 days so every afternoon after dinner, we get a chance to swim at the water park. The kids love it especially that frog slide. The water is only 2-3 ft so it's not that deep. There is also a pool for adults 4-5 feet only. It was a memorable moment and we will absolutely go back to Alamosa again. Will see...

This photo taken last month of September in our 2 days stay at Monterey Bay, California. We went to Monterey Bay Aquarium and saw a lot of beautiful sea creature. At this photo, I think this is a penguin egg, this is not real though hehe :-) Anyhow, the kids are really happy to see the penguin and other sea creatures and I think the trip in Monterey Bay is really worth it. Hope we can go back there again for another vacation and see another places in California.

Moving into my dream home

I just moved into a new house. It is the best place I have ever lived. The bedrooms are huge and have the softest carpet. The entire house has high ceilings making the rooms seem even bigger. The kitchen has two ovens. I have always loved cooking and always wanted multiple ovens. The countertops are made with beautiful granite and the bathrooms have fabulous tile in them. The previous owner already had direct star TV installed, so that is one less thing I have to do. The landscaping was also taken care of by the previous owner.
